Step 1: Open Settings in Course Navigation




To export a quiz from Canvas, you need to go to the Settings page of the course that contains the quiz. To do this, click on Settings in the Course Navigation menu on the left side of the screen.


Step 2: Click Export Course Content in the Sidebar




On the Settings page, click on Export Course Content in the right sidebar. This will open the Export Course Content page, where you can choose what type of content you want to export.


Step 3: Choose Quiz Export and Select the Quizzes You Want to Export




On the Export Course Content page, select Quiz Export as the Export Type. This will show you a list of quizzes in your course. You can select one or more quizzes that you want to export by checking the boxes next to them. You can also use the Select All or Deselect All buttons to select or deselect all quizzes at once.


Step 4: Click Create Export and Download the ZIP File




After selecting the quizzes you want to export, click on Create Export at the bottom of the page. This will start the export process, which may take a few minutes depending on the size and number of quizzes. You will see a progress bar and a message that says "Running...". When the export is complete, you will see a message that says "Completed" and a link to download the ZIP file. Click on the link to download the ZIP file to your computer. The file name will be in this format: [Course Name]_QTI_Export_[Date].zip.


How to Import Quiz Content from a QTI ZIP File into Another Canvas Course




If you have a QTI ZIP file that contains quiz content from another Canvas course or another LMS, you can import it into your Canvas course. This will create new quizzes in your course with the same content as in the QTI ZIP file. To import quiz content from a QTI ZIP file into Canvas, follow these steps:


Step 1: Open Settings in Course Navigation




To import a quiz from a QTI ZIP file, you need to go to the Settings page of the course where you want to import the quiz. To do this, click on Settings in the Course Navigation menu on the left side of the screen.


Step 2: Click Import Course Content in the Sidebar




On the Settings page, click on Import Course Content in the right sidebar. This will open the Import Course Content page, where you can choose what type of content you want to import.


Step 3: Choose QTI .zip file as the Content Type and Select the File




On the Import Course Content page, select QTI .zip file as the Content Type. This will allow you to upload a QTI ZIP file that contains quiz content. Click on Choose File and browse your computer for the QTI ZIP file that you want to import. Select the file and click Open.


Step 4: Choose All Content or Select Specific Content and Click Import




After selecting the QTI ZIP file, you can choose whether to import all content or select specific content from it. If you choose All Content, all quizzes in the QTI ZIP file will be imported into your course. If you choose Select Specific Content, you will be able to select which quizzes you want to import after clicking Import. Click on Import at the bottom of the page to start the import process.


The import process may take a few minutes depending on the size and number of quizzes. You will see a progress bar and a message that says "Running...". When the import is complete, you will see a message that says "Completed" and a link to view the content. Click on the link to see the imported quizzes in your course. You can edit, preview, publish, or delete the quizzes as you wish.
